Death and Rebirth
When Winter lays a chilling hand upon your soul
And the day is short and stark
When despair lays thick among the trees
And the night seems long and dark.
When comes the twilight of your life
With your hair and gums receeding
When illusion’s glory is all gone
And your eyes are done with reading.
Then will you turn to the inward light
As your dreams lie dead and bleeding?
Then will you turn to the inward light
Or will you die unheeding?
